Part 2 - Mossman Gorge and Palm Cove

On our way down from the Daintree, we stopped at the Mossman Gorge for a hike and a swim. The mountain water was icy cold but a nice refreshing dip before heading to Palm Cove.



Palm Cove is a sleepy resort town just north of Cairns. We stayed at the Novotel for six nights with the DiNucci Family. Charlee and Adam couldn't wait to hang out with Maia and Jameson! We were joined later in the week by the Doyle family from Brampton.

Part 1 - Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation

Wow - what an awesome holiday! We flew up to Cairns, Queensland for our two week adventure. First stop was the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation. We took the road as far north as possible before hopping on a ferry to cross the Daintree River then continued up to Cape Tribulation where the road turns gravel and rental cars are not permitted to go any further!

Nature walks through the rainforest with weird and wonderful trees and plants!

We stayed at Ferntree Rainforest Lodge in Cape Tribulation. Charlee and Adam loved the loft!



Lots of creatures to investigate!


Despite the last two photos, we did not have success looking for crocodiles along an estuary near Cape Trip!



Since we didn’t have any success looking for crocs on our own, we decided to go on a Daintree River Cruise that guaranteed croc sightings! We saw small ones and large ones and even a few snakes along the way!

Using Adam as bait near the end of the boat trip paid off with a huge catch!

After an adventurous three days in the Daintree, we headed back to Palm Cove to meet up with the DiNucci family at the Novotel for part 2 of our holiday!

Coldplay

The DiNuccis were in town a couple of weeks ago to see Coldplay at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Lucky for me Maia was more interested in playing with Charlee than hearing a loud concert. What an awesome band to see live in concert!!!
